PIRATE FAMICOM shaped like an N64 pad.

What you are looking at is a Nintendo with 2000 rom permutations on 35 roms. The unit is the size of an N64 controller, which seems pretty  small. However, the hardware inside is much smaller and very interesting in its implications. The unit runs on 4 AA batteries and is therefore portable.

I've seen these units with as few as 15 and as many as 200  ROMS. The roms are usually favorites, with occasional hacked versions for fun. The one I have has game boy games on it.

The two grouped blue buttons are the rom selects:

2000 in one front

Top:Jump rom 1000         Bottom: Page Down

The middle button resets the machine.

It has permutations on the roms to #100 or so and then loops.

The four button group:

 Bottom two: A / B       Top two: A / B Turbo

Features AV and Mono out.

2000 in one back

Even though it is a *blatant* pirate item, I found it immensely useful (no blinking or carts) and worth the $29 cash I paid.  The 200 rom units are $99, so they're rare as they are hard to sell.

And now for the interesting bits...

This pretty much explains it all.

I have yet to strip away the chip coatings. But if I do find a way, I can put the chips under one  of those Intel microscopes for kids, and get a decent blow up.

These are really cool, and the best thing is, they don't blink like my NES does. They make a variant with a cart slot, but it's pretty hard to find now days.
