Teleplay gameplay system.

ASSEMbler

This has to be one of the earliest concepts I have seen for "Online" console based gameplay in the USA. A modem for the Nintendo 8-bit system seems very strange until you realize there had been one with online service in Japan for years. They made a stock trading unit for Famicom, and the modem concept was proven, even back in 1992.

What is most interesting is that this is an ACTUAL MAGAZINE ADVERT- ISEMENT.

Not in a trade magazine! An actual consumer  magazine. Boy was I excited when I saw this!! I heard there was even a small test market. But then all information dried up, and I heard no more.

What I find amazing is that the game for the Teleplay is  MULTI PLATFORM, a true first to be noted. With all the talk being cross platform Final Fantasy RPG gaming, this system is a distant echo of a long dead ghost.

A SNES modem must have been planned, as it is mentioned in the advertisement.

ANY further information is GLADLY accepted.
